Property portals are crowded, and the first image is what earns the click. Aerial photography gives a listing something the competition rarely has: context. A buyer sees the plot, the boundaries, the driveway, and how the home sits in its surroundings — all in a single, striking frame.
The context ground-level photos miss
A wide-angle shot of a lounge tells you about a room. An aerial shot tells you about a home and its setting:
- The size and shape of the garden and plot
- Proximity to green space, water, or open countryside
- Parking, outbuildings, and access
- How the property relates to its neighbours
Listings that lead with a strong aerial image consistently attract more portal clicks than those that open on a standard interior shot.
When it works best
Drone photography earns its keep on properties where the land is part of the story — detached homes, rural or semi-rural plots, new-build developments, and anything with grounds worth showing off. For a city-centre flat, interiors and a virtual tour usually do more.
